Shimmery Simplicity

*scroll down for the german version*

In the summer of 2015 I decided to start this blog simply because I wanted to write about stuff that I like and to cherish many great moments that I made in my life. I don’t want to say that I’m very bad at remembering things… but I’m really not good at remembering things. So this blog is a great opportunity for me to look back on my life in like 50 years or something.

Obviously Bloggers are a dime a dozen and they mainly use Instagram nowadays. I’m sure you noticed that these many many bloggers work with different companies, having a so called cooperation. I never really saw myself as an official Blogger since I’m doing this whole blogging thing just as a hobby and (unfortunately) not very frequently. Never would I have thought, that one day a company would reach out for me to offer me a cooperation.

Some time ago I found a jewelry shop called „Amazing Jewelry“ in a shopping mall. They sell beautiful jewelry at a reasonable price. Whether it’s a plain silver ring or a pair of extravagant rosé gold earrings, there’s something for every taste.

My first piece of jewelry from their assortment was a simple gold necklace with a round pendant that has my zodiac sign (Taurus) engraved. I was so in love with this necklace, because it was simple yet sophisticated. It could literally go with anything. I pretty much wore it on every picture that I uploaded on Instagram and obviously tagged the Austrian Instagram account of Amazing Jewelry (now @iamazing_vie) every time. After I tagged their account a few times, they messaged me asking to repost my picture. To me it was a huge compliment, that my picture was „good enough“ to use for promotional purpose. After  some more tagging and another repost from them, they offered me a cooperation. I had the opportunity to get jewelry from their Store gifted to me. Sarah was so kind and took good care of me. In return for the amazing products I got, I took pictures of my new accessories and gave them to Sarah for advertising purposes.

I’m so happy and really honored, that they contacted me and that I’m allowed to represent their brand. They even used my pictures for their website. My Mom was super excited when I showed her the website.

I’m looking forward to what else the future has in store for me and which new collections await us!

love,
Jackie

in Liebe,
Jackie

Committed to writing more often again, committed to being more active, committed to being more social, committed to eating healthier. I’m just trying to commit to a better life and enjoying it to the fullest.

I know summer’s almost over, buuuut I still decided to show you my shopping haul from August! Before I start I have to tell you that I haven’t been on a shopping spree for quite awhile, so I thought I’m allowed to spoil myself after my internship in july. I’m in LOVE with all of my new stuff! Without further ado, I will show you the cute bits now.

If you follow my blog and you’ve read my Birthday post, you might know that I got Soundcheck VIP tickets for the Little concert. So, you have the tickets and the only information you get is when they let you in and when the actual concert starts. The information about when you should be there and when the soundcheck starts is nowhere to be found. On the website, it says you’ll get an email 48 hours before the concert. If you know me, you probably know that I like to have everything planned a long time before. I hated not knowing anything. To make it even worse, my cousins wedding was that day. I know what you’re thinking. Why would you go to the concert? Is Little Mix more important to you than your own family? No, of course not. I was in the shittiest position I could imagine. I’ve waited for this wedding for so long and I was super excited. Then I got the tickets and I didn’t check the date. I was still in shock that I even got this present. After some time, I realized that these two events collide. I tried to figure out what to do, but I couldn’t. Why? Because I wouldn’t get this stupid email until 48 hours before this very day!!! I didn’t want to hurt my cousin’s feelings, but I also couldn’t sell these tickets, because this was a lot of money and in that short amount of time nobody would have been able to pay for it. I was very angry, but also extremely sad. I wanted to schedule it, but unfortunately there was no way to do so. Eventually I did go to the concert and went to the wedding afterwards.

On the 27th of May, the day finally came. My sister and I had to be at the venue at 3.30 p.m. and the stuff did a bag control as well as a body control (if that’s what you call it). Then we got in the building where we had to show our VIP tickets and our IDs, before we were welcomed with a goodie bag. The goodie bag included a Little Mix Glory Days Tour lanyard, a tour note book, an Admit One ticket and a tour program.

We had to build a queue so that everything runs off well-behaved. One of the staff people gave us further information about when the soundcheck will take place. It turned out that we had to wait till 4.45 p.m. which was quite annoying. We even heard the girls rehearsing one song and we were like “uuuhm… I thought we will actually see the soundcheck???”. We were a bit confused. The man also told us that it’s forbidden to take any pictures or record anything. That means we weren’t even allowed to hold our phones in our hands. We had to put it in our bags and leave it in there the whole time.

Then we were finally allowed to go inside the concert hall. We were told not to run since everyone would stand in the first row, because the VIP tickets were limited to 50 people only. So, my sister and I stood there. In the first row. Not comprehending what’s about to happen next. And then it happened. They slowly walked on stage, Perrie being the first. Suddenly there was this uncanny silence. I didn’t know how to react. Should I scream hysterically? No that would be too childish. Should I just smile and stare at them? That would be weird. But then again I am weird, so that’s what I did. I was in awe.

The girls were stunning. The most beautiful human beings I’ve ever seen. It seemed like they were a bit surprised by our restraint and Perrie was the first one to say “hey..?”. It was so surreal. They were so close. But the fact that they were on stage was frustrating. It felt a bit cold to be honest. As if we were animals that can’t be trusted. The first song they sang was Gotta Not, which I was so hyped about. It’s one of my favourites songs of the Glory Days album. There’s something about that song, whenever I hear it I get this attitude boost and feel really confident in my skin??? The power of music…

I was glad that no one screamed or sang along too loud during the soundcheck. I could actually hear the girls’ voices loud and clear and I could genuinely enjoy it. Which was, unfortunately, not always possible during the actual concert later on. After they sang “Gotta Not” there was some time for a Q&A. The fans asked questions like “can you show us your favourite dance moves?” and “How do you like Vienna?”.

Then they sang Shout Out To My Ex which was a lot of fun. The girls were standing in line. Sadly, Perrie (my favourite) was farthest from us. Next to her was Jesy and Leigh-Anne. Jade stood the closest to my sister and I and every now and then she gave us a little sassy smirk. We were blessed by the queen ahah! After the song ended we had the opportunity to ask some more questions and Perrie decided to sit down on the floor, which I thought was very cool and humble.

The manager who chooses the fans that could ask a question, walked in our direction. My sister and I, both raised our hands to ask a question. And when the manager chose my sister, my sister surprisingly handed me the microphone, giving me the chance to speak to my idols. This meant a lot to me, since I would have never expected this from my sister. She loves Little Mix a lot as well, but she decided to give me this special moment.
I was taken by surprise and hesitated before looking up to the girls. All four of them stared at me with a gorgeous smile. “Hey, I’m Jackie” was the first sentence that came out of my mouth before I flinched. Hearing my voice through the loud boxes was something I did not like at all. SIDE NOTE my native language is not English so I freak out whenever I have to actually speak English with a native speaker. Therefore, I was scared to fuck this up and sound like a complete idiot. I even thought about stopping and giving back the microphone, because I was shitting my pants. I could hear the pounding of my heart. However I decided to continue because I didn’t want it be more awkward. My question was “What is your favourite musical film? Because I love musicals”. I checked beforehand if they already got asked this question before in an interview or whatever, because I can imagine that it can be quite annoying to hear the same questions over and over again. Luckily, they were never asked this before. Or at least I haven’t found any evidence for it on the internet.
Jade was the first one to answer with “Westside Story” and that she’s balling her eyes out whenever she sees it. I was agreeing with a “ah yess!” when really, I’ve never seen this one before… Sorry?
And then I was waiting for the others to answer when I heard Perrie saying “Moulin Rouge” I was totally freaking out. Moulin Rouge is one of my all time favourite films and its soo underrated. So I was surprised she even know that film and to name it as her favourite musical film was even more exciting. I was like “oh my god. I love Moulin Rouge!” and she gave me a cheeky smile as if she was feeling our connection. This was a sign to me and a prove that we indeed have to be besties. Leigh Anne later mentioned Grease (which is also one of my absolute faves!) and Jesy was like “Moana…??”

After my question got answered they moved onto the next one. I was beyond happy. We left the concert hall and had to go back where we waited in the first place. Then we had to wait two more hours before the concert began. During that time, we were practically forced to buy awfully expansive food since they removed everything eatable or drinkable from our bags. And I mean, you just have to eat something if you get there at 3 p.m. and stay there till at least 10 p.m. if you don’t want to collapse. To make it even worse, the lady who sells the drinks wasn’t there at that time and apparently, the lady who sells the food can’t sell both???? Like what the…???? So, the drinks lady arrived about 10 minutes before entrance time, which was annoying because we had to take the drinks inside the concert hall with us.

Since we were VIP, we were the first ones to get in the concert hall, which meant that we stood in the first row again. The disadvantage of an early entrance is that you have to wait for quite a long time till everybody is in the concert hall. Plus, the supporting act (The Vamps) were taking their time as well which lead us the decision to sit down on the floor in the meantime. Not bothering if the people around us didn’t like it. Sometimes you just have to be selfish! (sorry not sorry). It also got extremely hot after some time, even though the concert hasn’t even started. We asked some of the staff people that walked in front of us if they could give us water, but they ignored us. Then there was the man who was responsible for the camera in front on the stage to film the girls. He took out a water bottle for himself and we were begging him to be so kind and give us a sip. He said he was sorry but he couldn’t do it, because then everyone would want that. Oh well. But he was very nice either way.

When the Vamps came out on stage literally everyone in the room was totally freaking out and singing along to their songs, while my sister and I were like “… uhm… ok”. I’ve never heard a song of them before that day, so of course I didn’t know the lyrics. This situation was rather awkward since the lead singer kept coming directly in front of my sister and me, watching us. Literally. I would even say he was staring at us. I know, I know. At concerts, everyone is like “OH MY GOD HE/SHE JUST LOOKED/SMILED/WINKED/WHATEVER AT ME!!!!” but 99% percent of the time that’s not the case. The singers only see a huge crowd, they don’t always recognize faces in particular. I know for a fact, that from up there you can only really see the first row and everything behind that row is just a huge crowd, because you’re blinded by the lights. So, he really did stare at us. We just stood there like complete idiots not knowing what to do since we probably were the only ones not singing along. We just smiled and nodded. This exact situation happened at least three times.

When they left the stage, we had to wait for another 30 minutes until the girls came up. They were just freaking amazing. If you know Little Mix, you know that their performances are always on top. Seriously, their vocals are extraordinary and their dances are breathtaking. Their costume choice is also something I really adore. They all stick to a certain theme, but they still make it their own and stick to their specific style as well, if you know what I mean.

To be honest, when Perrie was at the other side of the stage during the sound check, I was afraid that I wouldn’t see her that much during the actual concert as well. But that was not the case at all. She was at our side almost the whole time. You can guess how happy I was about that. She always smiled at my sister and me and kind of sympathized and interacted with my sister a lot? Yes, I was jealous of this bounding.

ANYWAYS, this evening was still one of the most amazing days I’ve ever experienced. Seeing my idols so close, interacting with them, hearing their precious voices live… I still can’t believe it. And I sure will never forget this day.

love,

Jackie
